Did it absolutely wreck me?

Yes. Absolutely yes.

When I first picked up this book, I had no idea what to expect. My mind was completely blank. Not only was it my first MM romance, but it was also a dark romance, which made me even more curious.

What I didn't expect was how completely obsessed I would become.

I don't think I've ever fanned my face so much while reading a book.

I don't think I've ever gone this red.

And I definitely didn't expect this story to become one of my favorite reading experiences ever.

This book was everything I wanted and somehow everything I didn't even know I needed.

Beautifully written, emotional, spicy, heartbreaking, and unforgettable.

At this point, I'm convinced Rina Kent simply doesn't know how to disappoint me.

💞 What Made Me Swoon

This story follows Nikolai Sokolov, the heir to the Russian mafia and a business major, and Brandon King, an art student from a wealthy family whose life is built on structure, control, and expectations.

From the very beginning, their relationship is pure chaos.

Beautiful chaos.

Nikolai is sunshine wrapped in trouble.

Brandon is a gentleman wrapped in grumpiness.

And watching them collide was one of the most entertaining things I've ever read.

While Nikolai is completely comfortable with who he is and openly embraces his sexuality, Brandon is fighting a battle within himself and struggling with feelings he isn't ready to face.

That contrast between them made every interaction feel intense.

And the chemistry?

Absolutely insane.

🌹 Nikolai Sokolov, The Man You Are

I don't even know where to begin.

Nikolai made me laugh.

Made me swoon.

Made me want to protect him.

And somehow made me love him more with every chapter.

This man was literally an angel disguised as chaos.

The way he gravitated toward Brandon like a magnet.

The way he refused to give up no matter how many walls Brandon threw in front of him.

The way he constantly chose Brandon over and over again.

The way making Brandon comfortable became second nature to him.

The way giving up was never even an option.

And don't even get me started on how obsessed he was.

Capital O.

OBSESSED.

Every time Brandon pushed him away, Nikolai somehow found another way back.

And honestly?

Talk about Man OBSESSED

💔 Brandon King, My Heart Broke For You

Brandon completely surprised me.

After seeing glimpses of him in previous books, I honestly thought he would simply be the quiet, reserved gentleman.

But if there's one thing books have taught me, it's that the silent ones always are the DIFFERENT SPECIMEN (the way he was possessive of Niko UMM!! HELLO??)

And Brandon definitely proved that.

The thing about Brandon is that even when he was in denial, his actions spoke louder than any words ever could.

He might not have openly admitted how he felt.

But every choice he made screamed it.

The more I learned about him, the more my heart broke.

His struggles felt real.

His fears felt real.

His journey felt incredibly emotional.

And despite everything he carried, he remained one of the strongest MMCs I've ever read.

There were honestly moments where all I wanted was to climb into the pages and give him the biggest hug imaginable.

🌙 What Stayed With Me

What I loved most about this book wasn't just the romance. It was the way these two slowly became each other's safe place. The way they understood each other. The way they fought for each other.

The way neither of them were perfect, yet somehow they fit together perfectly. Their chemistry was incredible. Their emotional connection was beautiful. Their vulnerability hit hard.

And their love story felt both heartbreaking and healing all at once.

This book made me laugh.

Made me blush.

Made me emotional.

And most importantly, it made me completely understand why so many people love MM romance.

For my very first MM romance, I genuinely couldn't have asked for a better experience.

The characters were unforgettable. The romance was beautiful. The obsession was top-tier.

The emotional moments hit exactly where they needed to.

And by the time I reached the final page, I knew this book had permanently earned a place in my heart.

I honestly have zero complaints.

Just love.

And a desperate need to reread it.
