Ruin the friendship by Elle rivers (Netgalley ARC Review) - she is his best friend but also the only person on his mind❤️🛳️😊
✨ A Soft Glimpse
A light, feel-good summer romcom filled with playful banter, soft moments, and characters that bring warmth and comfort—perfect for when you need a gentle escape.
🤍 Thank You
First and foremost, I would like to thank Author Elle Rivers, Netgalley and her team for providing me with an ARC of this book. I truly appreciate the opportunity.
If you love a cute summer romcom, this one is definitely for you. From the moment I read the description, I was drawn in by the plot, the setting, and especially the promise of fun banter—and it truly delivered. This was such a perfect pick-me-up kind of read.
Nate and Maisie were such lovable characters. Nate is the kind of MMC that’s easygoing, grounded, compassionate, and incredibly supportive—the kind you can’t help but fall for. Maisie, on the other hand, is relatable, soft-hearted, affectionate, and quietly brave in her own way, which made me admire her so much.
Together, they were genuinely enjoyable to read. I loved their banter, their humour (I actually cackled at times), and the way they understood and stood up for each other. Their loyalty to one another was especially beautiful to see.
💞 What I Loved
This time its not just the main characters who captured my heart but the side characters did too. the side characters truly deserve a mention—Scarlet and Quinn were such a lovely addition. They felt like the kind of friends everyone would want in their lives, the ones who unexpectedly come in and change things for the better. Scarlet, especially, stood out to me.
🌙 A Small Wish
I do wish this book had a dual POV—I really wanted to get inside Nate’s head and understand his feelings more deeply.
At times, the story also felt a bit fast-paced when it came to the development of their feelings. Maisie moving on so quickly after a long-term relationship felt a little rushed, and I personally didn’t feel a strong buildup of tension between them. Their chemistry felt more immediate than gradual—but this could just be a personal preference
🌷 Final Page
Overall, this was a sweet, enjoyable, and comforting read. While I wished for a bit more emotional buildup, it was still a fun summer romance that I truly liked and would recommend if you’re looking for something light and heartwarming.
