Rating: 4/5⭐
🤍Thank you
First and foremost i would like to thank Author Shelby Rae and Oliver Press Publishing for giving me the ARC copy of the book truly grateful✨ A Soft Glimpse
A cozy, heartwarming romance filled with soft pining, second chances, and a love that quietly grows stronger over time—wrapped in laughter, warmth, and a little chaos.
🌸 My Thoughts…
Never have I ever read a book where I loved the kid more than the main characters… until now.
Don’t get me wrong—I truly loved Dalton and Savanah. But Drew? She stole my entire heart.
When I first picked this book up, it immediately felt like something I would enjoy—a cozy romance with a military MMC, a single mom FMC, and the brother’s best friend trope? Yeah… I was already sold.
At the beginning, I didn’t feel too much connection with the story or characters. But as I kept reading, something shifted—and before I knew it, I was completely hooked.
💞 What Made Me Swoon
Dalton Hayes… where do I even start?
This man is the definition of down bad. The way he’s been pining and yearning for Savanah for most of his life?? I mean… sir??? And it only got worse (in the best way possible) as the story went on.
Protective, a little possessive, and completely gone for her—I was seated.
And Savanah? She deserves all the love.
Going through teen pregnancy is not easy, but the way she handled everything—with strength, grace, and resilience—was so admirable. The way she raised Drew, the way she always knew Dalton was it for her, no matter how much time passed… it was beautiful to watch.
But what I loved most?
They both chose each other, over and over again.
The pining wasn’t one-sided. The love never faded. They never felt this way about anyone else.
And that? I absolutely LOVED.
💔 What Stayed With Me
Drew. Just… Drew.
Her sass, her energy, her presence—she added so much life and warmth to the story. She wasn’t just a side character, she was the heart of it in so many ways.
🌙 A Small Wish
I did feel like the friendship dynamics could have been explored a bit more. They were good—but I felt like something was missing there.
I also would have loved to see more of the parents’ side of the story, as it felt a little limited.
🌷 Final Page
This was such a comforting, feel-good read that slowly grew on me and ended up stealing my heart.
With lovable characters, soft pining, humor that genuinely made me laugh, and a romance that felt both warm and intense—it’s definitely a book I’d recommend.
